...a great neighborhood asset...
Our settlement house or community center is a neighborhood pillar, known throughout the community for its quality services and welcoming atmosphere. An energetic and well-trained staff provides comprehensive housing counseling, emergency energy and housing aid, employment supports as well as parenting classes and case management to promote family stability. Dixon House is also home to the city’s first-ever curfew center, an effective tool in reducing youth-related violence. Throughout the year the center is a beehive of activity – creating opportunities for community improvement, dialogue and public/private connections.

Our new center represents a dream realized.
To be closer to our constituency, we built a new social service center in the heart of the Point Breeze. The center houses the agency’s administrative staff, specialized youth prevention services, emerging employment supports, and in-home protective service staff. The building represents a major investment in the future of Point Breeze, which has sparked neighborhood revitalization, an intended goal of the project.
